ANOTHER FANTASTIC GUIDED TOUR...

 

Ora bem, como já vos tinha contado, andei a fazer visitas guiadas pela minha cidade natal, com a espetacular Drª Ana Barroso do Hotel Vidago Palace. Primeiro andámos pelo centro histórico de Vila Real, agora fomos até às freguesias adjacentes, mais propriamente Vila Marim e Vale Nogueiras.

Com a excelente companhia do historiador e diretor dos Museus da Vila Velha e da Numismática da cidade, lá partimos à descoberta da Torre de Quintela.

O fato de ter tudo a ver com uma torre de um castelo, acessório de uma muralha vocacionada para a proteção, a Torre de Quintela engana, pois trata-se de uma casa senhorial, cuja aparência é esta de forma a mostrar poder. Isto é, se o rei é o mais poderoso e se encontra num castelo com torres, alguém a quem lhe foi incumbido poder pelo rei, e o representa em terras longínquas, pode ter também uma torre e viver nela.

A torre está divida por três pisos, com acesso por escadas de madeira. No primeiro piso seria a cozinha, no segundo a sala de convívio, e no último os quartos.

Este monumento, considerado um dos 5 monumentos nacionais do concelho de Vila Real, alberga de quando em vez, normalmente na altura do evento Douro Jazz, concertos ou peças de teatro, onde os intervenientes se vestem a rigor. 

 

The tower is divided over three floors, accessed by wooden stairs. On the first floor would be the kitchen, according to the lounge, and in the last room.
